This is something that really pisses lots of us Germans off. That the British still havn't got over world war 2. The americans, the french, and the poles all have managed to understand this we live in a different time now.

England is Germany, the English are Germans.
-
but hey it's not as big as say the english inherent anti-french attitude
-
I think that joke about The Great Escape is one of the best joke I've ever heard....fkkn hate that film

@DissorderedArray see: Cold War
If you'd said "rival" I'd not have commented, but "enemy since the war", lol.
-
@Spandau1945 the thing is: we Scots are too busy hating the English (and each other) for anyone else to really get much of a look in...
-
We will continue to spray aerosol just to drown the bloody Dutch..lol XD

It's not that we hate the germans, it's just that since the war Germany has become our number one 'enemy', like the Rebellion has the Empire and Rome Carthage. It's just become kind of mythical respect in the form of competition. Its like I explained to my Bavarian girlfriend, we don't hate Nazi Germany, we love it! They're the best bad guys ever! If it wasn't for Hitler our trashy video games would all be called 'Return to Château de Chenonceau'. Our bad guys have wigs, yours have Panzers...

Boah, Henning! - Die Niederländer ertränken! Was tut man nicht alles für's Image des *typischen* Deutschen.

Makes me chuckle anyway. Probably because 99% of what he says is painfully true.
"The Great Escape" or as we call it in Germany, "The Great Capture".

the Daily Mail comment is so ridiculously true. As an Englishman who has lived in Germany I find the English attitudes to a country from which most of us stem more than a little bit exasperating.
