This tape began its life on BBC2 in October 1988 as the replacement for My Sugar and was replaced by Somewhere In My Heart in May 1991 and included a lot of tunes composed by Frank Chacksfield, with one track repeated on Horizons in October 1992. Titles on this track include: Ham and Eggs; Say Hello; The Green Lamp and Mexican Serenade.

  • Yes track 3 is good. If this is the same group as track 2 of CUBAN BOY then I must say this track is immeasurably better. It's a bit like "Lucille".

  • If you listen carefully to the Chacksfield Ceefax tapes you'll notice two distinct orchestras both called the Frank Chacksfield Orchestra. One has a set of close-harmony woodwind players, a flugelhorn, and a slightly muffled string section. The other has a very large vibrant string section and features an accordion. Frank would have had several different orchestras in his time, all bearing his name.

  • Another excellent test card tape we have here, especially track number 3.
