nice song

does this measure 0-60 time?

Exactly. A higher octane fuel has a higher resistance to knock or combust, if you will. Cars that require a higher octane usually have higher cylinder pressures which would make a lower octane fuel possibly diesel.
-
Well, depending upon how flexible the cars ECU is. If E85 has a 110 octane rating, so if you're driving a modified car, you can squeeze out more power with some tuning without dieseling.
-
octane= resistance to detonation. meaning, when the piston is compressing the fuel and air mixture in the combustion chamber, the fuel is not going to "explode" in the chamber before the spark plug has a chance to ignite the fuel air mixture thus creating a controlled, efficient burn. so higher octane will give you more efficiency, power, and less detonation in high-demand situations like red-line driving.
The Horsepower gauge tutorial is available on the scangauge website. Look for the "how to display horsepower as an XGauge function" link. On a different note, is this echo a manual transmission or the automatic?
