No strings. I analyzed this film frame by frame and the so-called "string" that LazyYes thinks s/he sees is one of the cat's whiskers. My cat does way more intricate things than this like playing the piano while meowing. Some cats just don't know they aren't humans and do stuff like this. Watch it again while hitting pause over and over and you'll see that it is a whisker.

A lot of cat act like us. Well, when you do take a really young kitten and bring it home where he'll be the only cat, he'll have only humans as references.

I sort of think she was using the string/thread pulled from the towel to continue the face drying, but she may have neeeded help get the thread off, tricky things snagged towels.

The cat catches her claw on the towel, and this creates a string/pull from the towel as she continues to wipe her face. Not a whisker, definitely not. By the way my cat is polydactyl x 4, with the thumb formation on both front hands; but he does prefer to come in from the rain at 3am and wake me by bouncing and shouting on my chest (hurts) till I dry him, because I am his slave. But my cat should get together with yours as he can play the guiter and sing "I'm a believer" really clearly!
