@elduder01 I also only did a "quick google search", so I'm no expert, though I already knew Benny Goodman did it. Wikipedia says it was written with lyrics by Louis Prima, then the first instrumental version was by Goodman. Of course, the way jazz was improvised, Goodman's version may well have been radically altered from the original.

@aa923bbcc The Wikipedia page says it runs from 1927-1933, but it could be wrong. It doesn't matter; the trailer looks absurd, with a bunch of 1920s people seeming to dance to music that didn't exist yet. I thought "Sing Sing Sing" was only played in the trailer; hope so.

I could not help but to cry sometimes, beautiful acting, music and storyline. It capture the passage of the silent movie era to the roaring 20's & beyond. I loved the irony of one the main lines in the film when Goodman tells him that theaudiences (or the Studio to be more precise) want change, fresh faces & talking movies. Also, that the audience or the studios are always right. Sadly, all that change got us where we are now after losing all that magic movies had once. What it, it deserves it.

despite whatever few flaws it may have from what i see, the film seems like it's going to capture the 20s and 30s better than any other film made today! and monsieur dujardin REALLY looks like he stepped out of a time capsule! looks EXACTLY like a star from those times! this is the sort of film hollywood should make nowadays: done the classic style, with just the right actors and music, and everything else.

@nadjadee go see it, you wont be dissapointed! its great! A daring bet like this needs people to support it by going to wach it, its a miracle such a film was recently made. Its the kind of film you should watch in a theater, really, far better than downloading it.

This is a masterpiece. The music is not anachronistic at all, see the movie and make your conclusions after. It happens that the film is settled from 1927 to 1935 or 1937, that justifies using "sing sing sing ", right?Regarding the acting of the leading actress, she is great. You see, this is a meditation on the history of cinema, with lots of humor though, and in some stretches of the movie is "real life", so the actress is not acting, while in others she is. Great Hazanavicius, where were you?

marysdri - First off I agree with you, the music in the trailer is not actually in the film. The film has an original score that is amazing. It is irritating that they used a commercially popular track to excite an american audience. However, you clearly just did a quick google search on the music and don't actually know what you are talking about. Louis Prima did write a song named "Sing sing sing. But not this one. The one in the trailer was done by Benny Goodman.

Looks boring and the leading lady does not look like a star from the 20's. Even with the clothes, hair and makeup she still looks and acts modern.
