Every time Gary goes to the diving board Katie performs a ritual of walking in front of him across the diving board before he jumps. She seems to be trying to persuade him not to do it. After each dive she runs to make sure her Daddy is ok. I wonder if he started drowning if she would jump in? My guess is YES. Check out the latest adventures of Katie and Louie, the Newfoundland therapy, rally and draft dogs at:

We knew a couple with a Newfie and they ended up having to put it in their cabin or leave it at home when they went to the lake. If they were out swimming, it would swim itself to exhaustion to try and 'rescue' them and if they tied it up at the edge of the lake it would worry itself to exhaustion! Awesome dogs though

We had trouble keeping my Newf, Lilly, out of the pool whenever I swam because the first thing she'd do once she got in was bite onto my hair and pull me towards the ladder. xD
They're such amazing dogs.<3

oh this is my dream life! 2 newfoundlanders and a big pool for them!
Erkerkerk123 7 months ago
@Erkerkerk123 The pool belongs to my mom & stepfather who live 100 miles away, so we rarely use it. However the 2 precious Newfs live with us and we are so grateful for every day with them. They were both puppies in this video. Now they are all grown up. Louie, the baby, is now a 130 pound 3 year old & has rescued his Daddy from pretend "drowning" in a lake a few times this summer. There is a video of that on my channel. Their rescue instincts are amazing.

@AnthonyFamiglietti I am so happy for you. Katie & Louie are rank right up there with the very best parts of our lives. We love them so dearly. My advice for you is to start training immediately & do a little bit every day. An untrained Newfie is no fun and can be dangerous - not intentionally, but you don't want them jumping up on people and knocking them over. Our Website has lots of Newfie info. Just google: newfs happy haus. The site is called Welcome to the Happy Haus. Best wishes!
