The Men's team won the Oceania champs over Australia, Nauru and Samoa, qualifying two lifters to compete in Beijing 08, Richie Patterson and Mark Spooner.

Our captain of weightlifting last year was a new zealand weightlifter. He was tiny though but mean strong, I think he was Sri Lankan. Hold up that was him at 1:36 - 1:39. WOOH!!
