At Automated Systems Technologies & Design® we are very proud of our top and bottom label applicator systems.

ASTD® will use only top quality stainless steel, high quality powder-coated steel, sealed load cells and food grade belting to manufacture your plant's equipment. We put a high priority on meeting the strict washdown and chemical requirements you need to assure your plant's safety is not breached.

Vande Berg Scales was established in 1964 as a direct result of the foresight and entrepreneurial spirit of founders Don L. Vande Berg and his wife Wilma. Using their home and garage as a launching pad, the kitchen table as a workbench and the living room as an office they started a scale service outlet.

VBS Inc. has become our operating company and we now manufacture out of a 14800 Square foot facility in Northwest Iowa. Even through the many years of growth we have not lost sight of the Midwest work ethic that got us started. Currently about 50 employees make up our production, computer programming, service department, sales, marketing and administrative staff.

Starting out Vande Berg Scales was primarily involved in the sales, installation and service of brand name scale equipment in Iowa, South Dakota, Minnesota and Nebraska. Today, we have a large presence in the meat and food industry though out the United States and have expanded into automation. Our business is about measurement, accuracy and automation. We develop systems to help you stay profitable, cut labor and production costs.

Spearheading the expansion into automation has been David Vande Berg; in 2001 David purchased the company form his parents. Growing up in the scale industry and later calling on meat packing plants in the Denver area has given him valuable experience and inspiration in designing custom systems for the food industry this early connection and insight gives David the leadership skills Vande Berg Scales uses in mechanical design and R&D. Some of our accomplishments include the High Accuracy In-Motion Monorail Systems, Trolley Vision and In-Motion Check Weighers. Many of our systems have passed the strict guidelines of becoming NTEP certified.
