Ladder "Stand Guard" is made and sold solely by K & J Hunting Products. This product idea came from our experiences in the field. Visit us at www.kjhuntingproducts.com or e-mails us sales@kjhuntingproducts.com.
Do you hunt public land, you know where your stand becomes public property? Or do you hunt ground that this is so close to the road that you can slip and hunt it on the way to or from work. You know the place that is easy for folks to slip-in and get to stand if they don't see your car or truck parked near by.
Ever get to your ladder stand after a long week at work, big dreams and plans for great hunt and there you find "evidence" that it has been used in your absence? You know what I mean, candy bar wrappers littering the ground, or your gun/safety rail bent. Or worst yet, you get to your ladder stand only to find that someone is already sitting in it! Now you have a problem, you have to get them out, and regardless their willingness to leave the area is so affected with noise and scent that you have go somewhere else to hunt.
I hunt a mix of public and highly trespassed private ground. I have had many of the problems mentioned above. That is why I invented this device. It prevents access to my stand. No one can access it unless you give them the key!
I also keep a ladder stand on the back side of my house for practice. I use this device to keep the neighborhood kids from climbing on my stand. Its a great way to let me keep my stand up, yet keep the kids off. It reduces my chances of an accident and the associated lawsuit.
These devices are manufactured here in the heartland of the USA. They are made to fit a 17" to 21" ladder rung. However they can be modified with common household tools to fit a narrower ladder rung.
They are made of expanded metal (steel 8Lbs or aluminum 4LBS) and all points of contact have been welded to insure a long product life. The stand guards are primer coated in black and can be painted with any color paint you chose. All sharp edges are covered with heavy gauge rubberized edging, this are easy to use and built to last.
The Ladder Stand Guards come with a shackle lock that comes apart to fit around the rung of your ladder. This one lock is all that is needed to prevent access. You or those you authorize simply unlock and pull apart the shackle (be sure to place the lock and key in a safe place), slip off the Ladder Stand Guard (set it on the ground near or behind your stand) when you are ready to hunt.
You might consider the aluminum model if your stand is 3/4 miles or more from the road.
