GINO BANKS

Gino has been fooling around with the drums since he was 8 years old and took it up seriously, after school, at the age of 15. He is the son of Louiz Banks, India's legendary jazz pianist and composer. He toured Australia and China with his fathers' indo-jazz fusion band SANGAM playing percussion (roland octopad and shakers) when he was just 9 years old.

His interest in drums began at an early age watching drummers Ranjit Barot and Sivamani perform with his father on stage. He listens to all kinds of music ranging from jazz to rock to pop to fusion to classical to heavy metal and everything in between. He is influenced and inspired by all types of musicians who play honest creative music from the heart and who burn on their instruments.

He performs and has performed alongside his father Louiz Banks, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Hariharan, Jay Oliver(USA), Leni Stern(USA), Angela Hagenbach(USA), Karl Peters, Braz Gonzalves, Suneeta Rao, Shaan, Abhijeet, Rakesh Chaurasia, Talat Aziz, Ustad Rashid Khan, Sitar Funk(Niladri Kumar), Sonia Saigal with Black Market and many other groups, musicians and singers.

Gino is already making a mark as a drummer to watch out for..... He hopes to make a big impact on the music world by spreading the knowledge and message of creative and honest music to any and everybody.
