@dietcoke737373 It probably takes years for the benefits of niacin to accumulate. Also, all the participants in the study you mention already had very low LDL from taking statins, which might mean that people who already have their LDL low enough don't benefit further from raising HDL. Niacin has raised my HDL from 41-->77 and lowered my LDL from 135-->79. Also my LDL particle size changed from almost entirely small and dense to large and buoyant, and my HDL most-protective subtype 3x.
Now what about the new study with Niacin showing no difference in heart attacks when improving HDLs. Sounds like to me there is a lot we just don't know yet.
Thanks for sharing with us.........Love my Virgin Coconut Oil!!!

HDL and LDL are actually proteins, lipoproteins to be exact. They carry fatty acid in the blood during transport.

@guitarcrazed188 hdls is a molecule of cholesterol protein and lipid. hdls are taking cholesterol from blood to liver. hdls should be 1:4 to ldls

HDL isn't cholesterol, it's a protein. And high cholesterol isn't a bad thing, in fact it has shown to be better then having low cholesterol.
