Created in 2003 for the Association of Community Living - Manitoba. Conceptualized and written by Marsha Dozar and Karen Schwartz, this video was intended to give people with developmental disabilities an understanding of the Victim's Bill of Rights and how it affects them. Showing the normal process from start to finish, it presents a clear-speak method of explaining how the law works.
This was an interesting project I worked on with a number of other staff at Manitoba E-Association's office. With photography by Dustin Leader, scanning (yes, this was all 35mm still photography) by Stacey Rogers, Dustin Leader and Nicole Mardis. I learned a new appreciation for keeping a clear record of what photos are meant for which scenes (record keeping got us in the end) and always keep high quality original versions of files. With that being said, I think things turned out okay visually.
Originally, the two collage sequences were done in Flash MX and the whole product was edited together using Adobe Premiere 6.5 (with a lot of grief caused by the titler). This revised version was edited using Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, images were re-sized and pixel aspect ratio corrected. Collage sequences were re-created in Adobe After Effects CS3 with some nice over-exposure effects and a drop shadow.
