I had to put my favorite baby to sleep today. I was there feeding him when he was the runt of the litter entering this world, and I was there holding him when he left it. Rest in peace.

four of my hamsters died.
one about a year ago. choco-nilla. named after her/his parents at two weeks old.
junioreta a month ago twin of runt.
runt - today, same incident as CN.
booboo - yesterday - elvis was mean to him.
i just hope anoter hamster of mine doesnt go any sooner. i have now 5 hamsters.

Since i don't know hamsters, i've got some questions. Why did you put him to sleep, how did you, how long do they normally live, and, was he in some kind of pain before his death ??

He was having seizures and trouble breathing. I could see he was having problems, and the vet told me you gotta do what you gotta do. It was especially hard because he perked up when I took him to the vet cause he liked going new places. Dwarf hamsters usually live two to three years.

20 seconds in and i started crying...ive had 8 gerbils all 2gether and 6 of them have died...horrible moment wne u hold them while they slowly drift off....
