  • them are electirc right how are they in water

  • The electronics were mounted high on the chassis, so they didn't go under - or even get wet.

Now, the servo I run is a Traxxas waterproof one mounted on the front axle. The electronics are mounted in a tupperware container and are siliconed up. If I don't run in water, I leave the container lid off, so the ESC doesn't get too hot.

  • Hiya m8 thinking of getting 1 of these just wondering if you have done anything to protect the elctrics in the truck? Cheers!

  • Well, I have since rebuilt the truck and relocated the servo to the front axle. I chose the Traxxas high torque waterproof one and have submerged it many times - no problem.

The ESC is a Novak Rooster Crawler. Since it sits high on the chassis, along with the receiver, they are pretty much out of harm's way unless you flip over in the water. I may seal them in balloons soon though.

  • jeez, people just need to balloon their servos and shit lol

  • awesome..looks like a lot of fun

  • You are still taking a chance.

The electronics are mounted high on the stock chassis, so you can usually go as deep as the top of the stock tires. However, you are taking a big risk since water can splash up there. I added a Rooster Crawler ESC to this truck and while not waterproof, it is water (i.e. splash) resistant.

My latest crawler is completely water resistant for ease of mind.

  • @BCK1970 so you are sayiing if i get a wheeley king tommorow i can take it in water with out messing up the electronics

  • My WK has gone from a basher to a semi-scale dedicated crawler. Still running the stock chassis though. You can see the same truck in my video "Wide World of RC Crawling" It's the AMC Pacer lol.

  • I've been considering a straight axle basher for some time now. My AX10 has been modified with the TCS X-trail chassis and I'm waiting for a clod body with all the bits and bobs to arrive ($85 on ebay!!) to make it a proper scaler.
