@jfrsnjhnsn The Asian farmers aren't making much money. Most of the money goes to the American retailers and transportation providers.

To say nothing about child slavery on those Thai shrimp farms, which is kind of the bigger issue if you take two seconds to think about it.

It's like a metaphor for life in the US... We don't even realize how what we love to consume comes from an asian cesspool. They are making our money by providing us with some stuff that we demand and we don't even realize where it comes from. and, as we eat it, we cluelessly sit around and talk about how great we are as a nation and how inferior the others are. As we eat their sewage.

@neverfearchrisishere I know but there is a big difference between a shrimp in nature and a shrimp grown in water that's completely saturated with toxic sewage and antibiotics. The main difference, there's so many toxins in it that pass through and hurt your body.

@MadMaxxieXD Shrimp are bottom feeders - their natural diet is effluence.

GROW YOUR OWN! EAT ORGANIC! DON'T CONSUME BULLSHIT FALSE FOOD!

In the river there are shrimp. In the river there is shit. In the river there is piss.
The shrimp eat the shit. The shrimp eat the piss. We eat the shrimp.
It's a tribal-song translation.

I actually haven't eaten shrimp since I saw this video... it's crazy it's been almost 6 months... Now I can safely say never again... this is SO disgusting.

I became allergic to shrimp at 17 and for years I was upset by that because I loved shrimp. But after hearing this story, my soul is finally at peace.

@silos201 "diseases and bacteria that are naturally resistant to those antibiotics survive and propagate" You've got to learn about bacillia mutations and evolution...
Glad I live in Louisiana, I only get crude oil covered shrimp!

"sooo genetically engineered..." Cenk should not be equating the shrimp farming methods being used in asia and mad cow disease with genetic engineered foods. Neither should he be contrasting genetic engineered foods with "natural" foods. What is so natural about any of our modern vegetables and livestock : nothing, they have all been genetically engineered, just in older slower methods.
