@merrickx With what I said I didn't imply that I hate people who serve, I just rather wish they'd do something less dangerous with their lives.

@Webzlinger Speaking as a veteran, service members are conditioned to certain lifestyles. They are never brainwashed or restricted from asking questions. In fact, we are strictly told to never do something follows orders that are blatantly unlawful, and the chain of command exists for this and many other reasons. You're right though, and war, definitely another story.

@Webzlinger The thing about serving being an "honor" is more brainwashing bullshit society forces down children's minds, that it's a great thing to die for a government that doesn't give a shit about you and can't wait to take your retirement money. If stupid ppl would stop enlisting, then the need for armies would vanish altogether. It's all psychology, like the 'women and children first' idea, that men are somehow disposable and their reward in life is a "noble" death.

@merrickx The very nature of a military is to indoctrinate it's soldiers in one way or another, basically make them stop thinking like a human being, stop asking questions, and play their part as fleshy bullet magnets. Veterans usually tend to be very disconnected people, they forget how to forge a connection with another human being, and besides the physical danger, the psychological effects are just as dangerous, most brains can't take the shock and horror of war. So they go ga-ga.

"Retreat" meaning, "Let's stand here and stare them down."

@Webzlinger The procedure is time-honored tradition, respect and discipline. The only real, notable brainwashing in most of this fiasco are the outfitters and users of those lovely sweater-vest combustibles.

I was here for that show, and I will ALWAYS remember that moment! Even though we were spending Christmas away from our families, having Robin and the rest of the crew out there made the time so much easier!
