Animal Planet pilot hosted by Seth Menachem

This is a pilot I created and made for Animal Planet which looks at various jobs dealing with animals. After a new President took over, it got bumped from the slate and was never picked up. I apologize in advance for the oddly tight shirt.

That poor bear has no teeth - that's why they can wrestle him, and why they give him mush treats like marshmallows and jelly. And notice everyone has a stick and they're constantly waving them at the animals? That stick carries a potent reminder of the beatings these animals endure on the path to becoming human entertainment. Don't kid yourself, these trainers enjoy abusing powerful animals. Shame on Animal Planet for not telling the real story.

@betsarama The bear's teeth were so sharp that after the trainer "play wrestled" with him he accidentally slit his arm open on the bear's teeth and we had to cancel the part where I would wrestle him. As far as I could tell they treat the animals great there & the animals have a much longer life span than they do in the wild. I was going to shoot at the LA Zoo but found the place so depressing & the animals so lethargic that I wouldn't do it. Here they seemed active and happy in comparison.

The show, Working would have taken me around the country to see all kinds of jobs and have me try them out for the day--sometimes failing miserably. Animal Planet wanted a version for them which only looked at animal jobs.

hmmm, we can keep the species, "alive" by not invading their habitat, poisoning the earth and misusing our intelligence to exploit them for financial gain! Certainly there are those who truly want to make a difference but still, on the whole, we are their worst enemies.

If the public wasn't educated on species like this, they wouldn't care or know the ways they could help to actually conserve the ones that are in the wild. It all comes back around to people wanting to know more, which leads to people becoming more educated on the matter, which leads them to caring and figuring out ways to help keep the species alive for years to come.

Not so fast, kelburks. I see your point but alot of times animals are saved from the wild that would not survive there because of injury or being on there own at a young age. So it's possible they are saving their lives and NOT just taking them from their home for entertainment.
