No this is conspiracy, which the Vienna show never have!

I don't know what exactly u mean.. but:
The death is bringing Rudolf to the hungaian nobles. They agree, that Rudolf will be the king of Hungary. Than at the end of the scene, the dancers of the Death are coming, and taking the document to Franz Joseph, which is proving the betrayal . Than he says: "So, my own son is betraying me....."

I don't know if this scene exists in the other (german and japanese) versions, but it's really great. Thank you. I love choirs where are only men *g*.
