errr i cannot listen to the video only using my eyes cos the main reason is im deaf....

It a really good example of shoeing, but i would defenatly not leave the nails strait up after nailing them in like he did. Horse pulls the hoof away and your hands gone with it. He should ring them off or bend them towards the shoe.

just to let u know the soft fleshy part is called the frog

The base of the hoof could be likened to your fingernail, so placing the hot shoe is no different to trimming your nails.
The soft fleshy parts are far inside, just like the tips of your fingers are under your nails and are therefore protected.
