UO Kingdom Reborn Sailing

Went out for a sail. Had to cut it short, not by choice but because the client crashed. Sailing in Kingdom Reborn is even worse than 2D. Also notice the chat text appearing in the top left corner (that bug has been there for months) and the buff bar icon under my health bar (a legacy bug from 2D).

He's using a laptop with a very weak video card. Anyone interested should google "128MB ATI Mobility x300 benchmarks" and you'll see...

Also, the X300 comes with shared or unshared memeory, do you know which one you're using? The GeForce 3 has unshared (dedicated) memory used in desktops. Your card is equivalent to a *GeForce 3 Go* (for laptops) not a GeForce 3 (for desktops). I also tested this on my built-in nVidia 6150 SE (128MB shared) and it runs fine too. You're card and CPU (maybe you have power saver on?) are bottle necking your performance.

Also, since you're so close to the minimum specs, did you tune down the detail?

ATI and nVidia use similiar but different technologies for rendering. You're saying your Mobility x300 is better than a GeForce 3? Well in what ways? The function calls may differ and KR might be using specific/newer features that have *better implementations* in nVidia. Remember that ATI and nVidia differ. Your X300 a laptop budget card. My 8800GT runs KR perfectly.

That is just sad and inexcusable. I have yet to try sailing in KR. I'll have to see when I get home if it's any better for me
