Ronald Reagan Versus The Hippies

This video is from the campaign trail, 1966. Reagan addresses the variety of radical student and the "Free Speech Movement" protests on the campus of the University of California--Berekley. At one point, students, and demonstrators blockaded a police car and used it as a platform to speak to the crowd. Lastly, Reagan's comments on the dance show how much American society has changed/collapsed in 40 years.

@Stentor7 So is there a time when Employees dont get paid for hours they worked? See the difference is the owner risk his capital and success is not a guarantee but the workers are guaranteed pay even if owner takes a loss. Libs think that workers should get more for no risk.

@DTD110865 The communist governments of Latin America were eventually voted out of office in elections, but Reagan has a demonstrable record of supporting right-wing regimes in that area that engaged in verifiable human-rights abuses, not to mention his written support of the Argentinian junta. Arming Cuba was 30 years before the collapse during the Kennedy Administration & has no bearing on glasnost. Whatever their faults, Reagan was not responsible for their collapse, they were.

@DTD110865 That is nonsense. I don't believe the communists were concerned with groups of people attempting to stop a war that they felt was unjust because of the draft. If you believe that the Soviet Union didn't collapse under it's own corruption, then you know very little about the history of that entity, & need to read up. The USSR was rebuffed in Afghanistan by jihadists & in Poland by the labor unions, there was no imposition of anything, & only served to intensify resistance..
