not all of us will have neural interfaces in our brains like johnny mnemonic. he was a certain kind of one. he was a cyber ninja like in the call to power 2 video game. able to steal technology. according to this movie these cyber ninjas could be doing these tech stealing courier runs as early as the 2020's. strangly in real life the virtual democracy government is becoming a reality before nearal interface. its the other way around in the game.

I remember being 17 and getting into such a big argument with my then girlfriend at the time that we both were ejected from the theater. I watched the movie years later only to find out I didn't miss a thing

Cheesyness isn't bound by any timeperiod. The trailer is cheesy because of the horrible narrator and cutscenes that were chosen for this trailer. So it is cheesy, very cheesy. The movie is good but this trailer makes it seem like a random Science Fiction lazer-bonanza. And no it's age isn't shown because of the cheesyness, it could as easily have been from the seventies or the forties or from last year. Actors, image quality, settings and video/sound technology show its age.
