I want. To be fighter. Pilot when I grow Up

My father used to be a fighter pilot, and he ejected twice.

Notice how the feet are bent back slightly indicating a limb restraint system ;) also after the altitude explosives sense the seat and occupant are within acceptable range it fires restraint release explosives that release the pilot from the seat enabling his personal parachute and survival kit to deploy :D

No leg support = broken legs

@jackflak1979 He works for free!
Actually, it's an anthropomorphic dummy.
The original Martin Baker seat was live tested by a man called Bernard Lynch. I can't remember how many test ejections he eventually made but he was awarded for his bravery. That man had guts.

I wonder how much they had to pay that guy?

That looks very dangerous. There wouldn't be enough room for a parachute to open. How did he survive?
-
It's the Martin Baker test site in Northern island. The whole sequence is very impresive, especially when you realise that it all happens in less than 1 second.

Seems on a railroad probably ts a test, anyway looks cool!

That's gotta be an unpleasant experience... second only to actually remaining on the plane as it turns in to an odd-shaped projectile.
