For the last time people who don't know anything.. When the sub is outta the box, the front and rear of the sub are phasing eachother out, thus little or no sound. When in a ported box, sound waves between the resonance of the woofer and tuning frequency of the port, are inverted in polarity, then come out of the port in phase with the front of the woofer. In a sealed box, the out-phasing sound from the back of the woofer is eliminated completely, and the air springiness amplifies the sound.

This sub isn't harming the kids ears at all, the sub is not even in a box. To really do any damage the sub would have to build up more pressure then i can do when not boxed.
