  • @rotterdam1953 I thought it's completely legal to criticize the FIA, even in public forum. Maybe they've clamped down on it, but I thought you really don't run into much issue with them until you try literally organizing drivers/teams/media to speak against them. Either way, I think the FIA does a pretty good job with safety these days - I can't say the same for competition though. Seems the in-race competition in F1 has fallen off since the mid 90s.

  • @ysgol3 Yes, the CSI banned the use of the rear wings virtually overnight and they were gone by the time Monaco arrived. I remember Graham Hill complaining bitterly that the CSI were incompetent. Try criticising the FIA now and you'd be out on your ear.

  • You actually see two separate crashes here. First, Graham Hill who was unhurt. Then Jochen Rindt whose car hit Graham's and overturned. Graham helped get the injured Rindt out despite petrol flowing everywhere.
