Guy/N7UN and I along with our faithful Sherpa/goats (Rooster & Peanut) tested out our gear on Mt Herman before for the big day. The big day being the Ham 14er Event (http://www.14er.org/). Guy had just flown in from NJ and needed to acclimate to higher elevations if he
was going to stand a chance of trekking to 14300 feet (Uncompahgre Peak) without ill effects. Mt Herman being a little over 9000' was the perfect spot to test our gear and conditioning. Video tells the rest of the story.

  • Great video!

  • Was that a chipmunk or a 220 Mhz vertical?

  • What is a SCMast, a self contain Mast? Who makes it?

  • Was wondering what case you keep your 817 in. I have looked and can't find anything like it. GREAT VIDEOs!!!!

  • Amazing to see the different personalities of the goats. Rooster seems eager to follow you and wants to take the shortest route no matter if it's more challenging just to catch up to you.. Peanut seems to have a easy going attitude and seems to be used to thinking only for himself. (is he a red-headed step child?)

  • I like the fact your goats stay near you. My Sheltie would have fun chasing (herding) them. LOL!! Great video.

  • You sir are a inspiration to all. 73

  • Goat Berries unlimited. LOL. As long as you keep the goats well feed I guess. Excuse me while I remain here at 2140 here at the Eastern edge of the High Plains. Someday I might have a rig that I can use to try 2M to work you athletic types during a 14er. Have a safe event week end.

  • Gday from Perth.. really amazing scenery from way up there, the sigs seem to just roll in, and it was really amazing to hear a south american, they are extremely rare from VK6.... thank you once again for the fun time.

  • Always good to watch your videos and always some laughs added in. Good sense of humor Old Goat and great filming, editing, sound mixing, etc. I'm looking forward to the video of your 14er adventure.
