A heat exchange for around a grand?! Girl, please. Gail walks us through this very popular, highly functional espresso machine that may not look as pretty as the rest, but still gets the job done. NSF rated.

  • @rcdrvrrc7 You should post a picture on our facebook page! Would love to see it :) - Kat

  • @gadgetnoob The red is definitely more funky! :) - Kat

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Its the Due A volumetric model, its a couple models previous to that sexy black and grey "Smart" model that you have on the website. But the internals are identical. I picked it up locally for $400 and spent several more hundred completely restoring it to new. Roughly 7-800 total. The plastic pieces have all been painted in sexy red, and the stainless is freshly polished. I also installed a shot mirror for those endless naked extractions and a bottomless Epoca portafilter. =D

  • @SeattleCoffeeGear Don't! Just don't say "other sexier Hx machines"! >_< You're making the superficial snob in me more hesitant about buying this more than capable machine.

Very happy to read it's produces similar shots to the pretty silver ones. And I think that settles it. Gonna buy one in one or two months time, God willing.

Since it's not the prettiest thing out there. I think I'll get the red one to add some funk to it. The black one just seems cheap looking (from the video, at least).

  • @gadgetnoob I think it is! They are both Hx machines, and the temp stability on the Oscar is great. I didn't notice any huge difference in shot quality on this machine compared to the other, sexier Hx machines we have. - Kat

  • OK, ladies. I think I settled with a machine I want. Though I think it's one ugly duckling, but it's the inside that counts, right?

But, how does the espresso shots compare to the ever so beautiful Rocket? Please, make me happy and say it's very comparable. >__<

  • @rcdrvrrc7 That's awesome :) Those Faema machines are gorgeous -- which model? - Kat

  • @fastfolky Cool! Let us know how it goes :) - Kat
