Victims of BLM's Antelope Complex Wild Horse Roundup - Foal Born Week After Roundup Ends

Video provided by the American Wild Horse Preservation Campaign (AWHPC): More than 20 mares captured in the Antelope Complex roundup have suffered spontaneous abortions at the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM's) Palomino Valley Center (PVC). At least three other mares have given birth to tiny foals inside the crowded pens at the holding facility in the first week since the massive capture operation in northeastern Nevada concluded on February 25, 2011.

The BLM knows that winter is the time of year when mustang mares are in their final months of pregnancy and are particularly vulnerable to the stress and trauma of a miles-long helicopter stampede. Yet the agency continues to jeopardize wild horses by conducting roundups at dangerous times of the year.

I can name call because everything I SEE the BLM do is wrong, running horses some pregnant over harsh ground, footage of helicopters actually hitting horses, many in the pens are lame, stallions fighting because the BLM have mixed family groups in pens, scared horses trying to jump the pens...want me to go on? I've had horses all my life & WHAT I SEE IS WRONG!!!

How do you feel that the BLM are greedy, every horse actually costs them money, do you think they make money on them, with over 40,000 mustangs in long term holding that can't seem to find a home. why don't you try to foot the feed bill. I'm not bashing you, just try to see things from the other side too.

Due to very heavy overpopulation and resulting in foodshortages (witch the BLM is trying to contain by doing roundups) there is a very good chance that they aborted and had small foals. The one in the video looked strong and healty.

Where is the problem? A least mommy had food there, they have only been in holding for a week, how is it BLM's fault that the foals are tiny? Oh, because BLM didn't leave them in the wild to starve?
