The Center for Literacy convened 400 volunteers to literally freeze in a public place, while reading, in order to sound the alarm that: 22% of adults lack basic prose literacy skills in Philadelphia. Members of the historic First Unitarian Church of Philadelphia were honored to participate in this literacy demonstration on Friday, November 20, 2009 at 12:00 pm across from City Hall.
