Same hardware as before: 2 x 2.8GHz Quad Xeon. Upgrade to Snow Leopard. Using latest 64-bit Cinema 4D 11.5 featuring bucket-rendering.

5 seconds render time 50% speed increase

Note: I used Quicktime X which utilizes GPU for screen capture and encoding. No CPU overhead like IShowU screen capture that I used in the other video.

  • It's the same 2008 hardware. OS and software update took advantage of cores and introduced bucket rendering. 2009 MacPro and 2010 unreleased dual hexacores will cut time drastically, increasing productivity, less waiting.

I love the fact that I can sample HQ renders in any given timeline to make lighting adjustments before I put it on the final render queue.

  • nice! I finally got tired of spending half my life waiting on renders so I ordered my octo-core tonight. I can't even believe those speeds I'm seeing. how much do you love it?
