Bloomington Police walk right past at least two female bar partons allegedly violating the Smoke-Free Illinois Act in front of a downtown Bloomington Bar. Then an alleged bar employee/doorman watches as a what appears to be a bar patron light up in violation of the Act, then the alleged bar employee lights up allegedly while still on bar property. Then a second bar patron exits through the exit stands by the already alleged employee in violation and another alledged employee/doorman lights up the patrons smoke while he is allegedly still on bar property. But, according to our local Director of the McLean County Health Department and our Director of the Illinois Department of Health, this bar is cooperating with the law. Yeah, we can plainly see that. They appear to be doing eveything humanly possible to protect their bar patrons entering and exiting the premises from that toxic and potentially dangerous second hand smoke the Smoke-Free Illinois Act is suppose to help prevent, by holding violators responsible. And Bloomington Police are surely doing their part a public safety enforcement officers. It seems our health and enforcement officials have subscribed to the "everyones doing it" so it must be ok policy.
