Five people will decide if Al Franken is Minnesota's next US Senator, or if there needs to be more votes counted. The five Minnesota Supreme Court justices heard arguments from lawyers for former US Senator Norm Coleman and his opponent Al Franken. Even though the election was nearly 7 months ago, Minnesota does not have two US Senators. A recount found Franken was the winner by 225 votes and so did an election contest trial found Franken won by 312 votes. Coleman appealed the decision to the Minnesota Supreme court.
