The asteroid 2011MD made a close pass of the Earth on 27th June (7500miles). It was not very bright, but a series of 9 frames stitched together to make a movie shows the path from near top left to bottom right.
Look at the brightest star and then about a centimetre to the right to pick up the asteroid.
The brightness varies, due to the tumbling motion of the asteroid.
The movie is greatly speeded up, and repeats many times to give you more chance to spot the rather elusive object.
(The telescope was a 10" reflector, SXV M25C camera).
