Demon attack is pure class in a way that the still excellent Phoenix isn't able to match
Each level although essentially the same, feels different
Real effort needed for later levels and it's gets the heart pumping like no other iv'e noticed on 2600
It's gets fairly intense and is a wonderful game
I wouldn't say it's all that similar to the cool Phoenix and i suggest people give this great shooter a try
Released also for different formats but the 2600 is far superior to those

This game is very nice for the Commodore 64 as well! I liked playing the Atari version back then. Very good game. Will try it in emulation now, hehe.

I disagree. This is better than Phoenix.

They're not all that different from each otha'
eyyy...forgetta bout it

@harleykman I thought phoenix was realised with the one of the 9 games with the orginal atari

I normally like the 2600 more than the Intellivision, but the Intellivison version of this game beats the 2600 version anyday.

wow 2 player for this game is retarded

Demon Attack was way better.
If I recall correctly, Demon Attack was released in 1982 and Phoenix in 1983, so it can not be properly called a copy.
Another cool game from Imagic was Cosmic Ark.

The Atari version of Phoenix was released in 1983, but the original arcade version was released in 1980.

When Jethro Tull's Aqua Lung came on the T.V. program Top 100 Hard Rock Songs, I couldn't help but think of you. XD
Nice one as always.

I wish I could scrap together a laser cannon. Why is it so easy to have a laser in the future? What is it we are fucking missing?
Between Phoenix and Demon Attack I personally prefered Demon Attack. More because of the colors. (GRAPHIC WHORE!) No I am not. . . it just. . . I dunno I felt it presented a more playable game.

If it were so easy to build a laser cannon from scratch, don't you think the guy could have built a small spaceship and flown out of there? I guess it's similar to the Gilligan's Island theory.
