Mechanoids the furnace 2002

Ray's entry into Mechanoids, This robot called Mechatron, a dark spin off from skelly.

Mechatron had moving upper and lower arms which were basically made from the reclining mechanisms taken from ford scorpio electric seats. The gripper hands were machined from ali and worked on the traditional bike brake caliper method. The head was made from the original cast from the first skelly head mold used in series one of technogames. The head prosthetics were left in the capable hands of brother Matt who gave it its defining evil looks. The head was controlled by servos The Team was Ray Tait, Ricardo a model racing champion and Lee Sharpe.

The programme flopped as it lacked any real battle conflict unlike robotwars. The programme first went out on the launch of BBC3 at around 1am so no one saw the programme. The house robots the assanoid and nu nu, were built by Chris Reynolds and his team Malcolm and the Tilley brothers from Robotwars.
