Tennessee shiners and many of it's relatives spawn in groups over the nests of larger chubs and stonerollers. Male Tennessee shiners go from non-descript, silvery shiners to spectacular red beauties during the spawning act. Females are much more subdued. Also shown in this video clip are several warpaint shiners. Often several species will spawn simultaneously over other minnow nests. Clean, clear water is necessary for most substrate spawning fishes. CFI monitors the health of many of our rare fish populations in the southeastern U.S.

  • we would go saning the creek for these then go trout fishin.trout love em..but they really love 2 day old kittens..the biggins come out for them..
