Long lining is regulated in So. Fla now... We can only fish so many buoys with a permit now.... You boys should come fish some sword tourneys here if youre up for it... Looks like what youre doing is stone crab fishing to me haha... tight lines
-
lets see long lining have special qoutas for the species once its up they cant fish it no more

You will never convince me that we Nova Scotia, Canada fishermen, effect any amount of any fish species with hook and line or harpoon... it just isn't efficient enough and thats a good thing... sorry for the rant and thanks for raising the point. And to stir you seal lovers.... uninformed banwagon jumpers... seals eat a hell of a lot of fish and there are no real predators that eat them. Those Newfoundlanders are just trying to make a living from the sea, its their fuckin haritage

i have to agree in a way, this from of fishing is far from selective, but, its far less effective than other methods, and we are still only using a hook and line. They sain herring and drag for all sorts of fish, they are so efficient that they are destroying the very industry that gives them their living.
