Gears were living, human-like creatures embued with magical powers. The best example of a pure gear is Justice, the gear who at one time had control of all gears. They were meant as weapons, but something went wrong and they attacked humans. There are some human/gear hybrids, like Sol Badguy, Testament, and Dizzy.

sol is not human/gear hybrid... he is just prototype gear. in other words he is a human with gear powers. he is different from dizzy[even if he has gear-part inside his mind]

@PoeticMysteryMan I realize this is a little late, but Justice isn't a full Gear anymore than Sol is. Or, I should say, they both are full gears. Sol wears a limiter to retain human form. Also, Dizzy is Justice's daughter.

and now that I think is great because my 2 favorite games are guilty gear and castlevania
