@catchfree84. Of course it's going from day to night, but I do think it's more than just that....they go out of their way to make the corner look extra dark. Also, when Bodie is sitting with McNulty in that park and expressing himself, it's a beautiful perfect bright day, and when he gets killed, it's again a super dark scene on the corner. It's subtle, but I think there's something there the creators intended. You might disagree. Anyway, it was just an observation.

The Wire does a lot of neat things with lighting in its scenes. When the kids are at six flags just being the kids they are, it's a really bright sunny day....but when they get back to the corner it's pitch black.
