What I have heard from fairly reliable sources is that this fictional beverage, "Slusho" has an exceptionally great taste from a secret ingredient found at the bottom of the ocean, and this substance can make a organism grow very fast and very large. While scooping the material from the seafloor, a small sea creature was mixed with it and turned into the cloverfield moster. The smaller creatures that come from its belly are parasites that live on it and also grew. Thumbs up so people can see!
