My fondness for these began when I was driven to school in a dark blue one. It oozed gloriously vulgar charm with its fins, pale blue vinyl seats, chrome and fake wood trim.
Pity that modern cars are so drab for the most part, with their charcoal-coloured interiors. I think that's one reason why people have taken to the new Fiat 500 - instant desirability, just like these Zodiacs.
I've been brought up with them, I learned to drive in a midnight blue MkIV Zodiac, and my primary mode of transport for a long time was a MkII Zephyr Ute (unique to Australia and New Zealand) with a MkIII engine for higher compression, a 4-speed on the floor (as opposed to 3 on the tree) and a 4 pound supercharger :).
Now it's got the MkIV (Capri) 3Lt (supercharged) and a 5-speed Celica G'box. Top work man, they're awesome old rockets. :)
Yeah the engine is running too rich and idling too fast. Great lookin car though mine has been stored for 10 years and i have just got mine going. Is yours running with the choke on??

Engines burning too much oil, tickover needs adjusting and sounds like ignition timings out, sounds gud though!
