I work at the Zoo. this is a behavior for her. She does it just like you would tap your pencil or twirl your hair. She does do this because she thinks she will get food though

The bear does this when she is hungry. Trainers fed her every time she did this for about 20 years. Now the zoo is trying to get her off of this behavior but she still does it alot.
