My family and I were stationed at Ramey Feb 70-Feb 73. I served as the NCOIC
of the USAF Conference Facility. We experienced many enjoyable hours with
friends at Crashboat Beach. Heiniken and baked red snapper was usually the
main menu. We were among the last people to leave the base when it closed.
They flew all of us out on what they refered to as "Stretch-8's". Ramey had to be
the apple of the Air Force's eye when it was active. It was nothing short of great.
