very cool advise, I like that you weren't stuck on any maker/model....just DO IT with that you got until you can get something better (thumbs up). RE: the desk stand for mics....I agree with the noise transmission (and they take up desk space). I just wanted to mention that there is a microphone shock mount for dynamic axial mics (like the ones you use) on musicians friend for about $14. Avoid the desk if at all possible, but that said...if someone is on their desk...a solution exists, at least.

@MrRocque - Absolutely! You don't need to go out and spend a ton of money on equipment just to make a podcast. The idea is to have some fun! Share ideas... music... information... etc.

Gret point about the shock mount. And for $14.99? Wow! I think it's a great buy and a super addition to any podcaster's gear arsenal.
