Precious Williams (author) is the daughter of a Nigerian princess and was 'privately fostered', from the age of 3 months, by a white family in West Sussex. Her first book, a memoir called 'Precious' (UK) / 'Color Blind' (USA) [Bloomsbury, August 2010], lifts the lid on the private fostering phenomenon in the UK and describes her abusive childhood and her subsequent journey to finding her own identity. Born in the UK, Precious has also lived in New York and Berlin, where she has worked as a journalist, writing teacher and author. Precious' work has been published all over the world, in publications including the Sunday Times magazine, the New York Post, Korean Vogue, the Daily Telegraph, Elle and Marie Claire. She has also been a staff writer at the Independent on Sunday and a Contributing Editor at the Mail on Sunday, Elle and Cosmopolitan.
