Charles Hardin Holley (Buddy Holly), was born on the 7th September 1936 in Lubbock Texas. Originally playing Country music, Holly switched to Rock N Roll after hearing a young Elvis Presley and went on to influence a whole generation of singer/songwriters, with his simple direct songwriting style, reliant on a strong band unit consisting of Guitar, Drums and Bass, writing its own material. Paul McCartney amongst many others, made perhaps the most relevant of statements, when he said that "without Buddy Holly and The Crickets there would be no Beatles!!"
Heres my little remembrance of the great man on the eve of his birthday, singing one of his lesser known, but in my opinion, possibly best structured songs......Lonesome Tears.

  • @Bopalena A friend of mine painted them. Simon pritchard-Ebay artbeat64. Give him a shout .

  • Great cover. I am more amazed in the fact that you can sing with an American accent considering you English is hardly understandable.

  • @scottysmith85 Lol, my accent isnt English; its geordie, an accent of its own.
