This is the R/C car of my youth, Tamiyas "The Hornet", which I got for Christmas in 1985. I attached my wireless camera to it and took it for a short spin, about 4 minutes, which happens to be what the old batteries manages these days. ;)

But to see the car from this perspective was a dream as old as the car.

This was just a quick test run, the next time I'll make sure the receiver for the camera is closer to where I drive to minimize interference.

No dog was harmed during the filming of this snippet (though I have actually happened to run into my friends poodle some 20 years ago ;) )

And yes, I know it's called "Christmas gift", not "present". "Present" is what you say in Swedish.

  • i´m sorry, but the videoquality is crap!

re-build this little sand bugger and hit the street with a camera from 2009.

  • The crappy quality comes partly from the encoding - and looking at it today it seems like YouTube have messed quality of it. I can assure you it wasn't this bad when I uploaded it one year ago.

  • my dad bought that and the grass hopper when he was a kid and my grandpa got the frog

  • Great video man! I used to have the exact same care in probably 1985. Unfortunately, a car ran over it and part of mechanism broke. Was never the same again! Great memories!

  • the begining was cool, would be cool to add music and make one chasing the dog. Also be cool if you ended with driving up into the wheelbarrow if you could somehow make the wheelbarrow fall back when u drove up into it.

  • Love this video!

  • oh yeah, i do agree with the "youtube-issue"-thing!when i watch all my videos with my windows media player, they look all good enough to be good to watch, but after uploading them on youtube, the quality goes down.did never understand why.

  • thats a great camera
