General Motors struggling amid US economic woes - 26 Sep 0

Wall Street banks aren't the only ones asking for money from the US federal government.

Until recently General Motors was the biggest carmaker in the world.

It's been building new factories to build fuel-efficient cars to try to win back its position but it now needs billions of dollars just to keep its old factories open.

Tom Ackerman reports from Youngstown in Ohio.

Toyota and other makers judged the market accurately. Whera GM and American did not foresee the end of cheap oil. If they survive they better not start thinking short term.

Go get the money back from GM lobbyist that they hired and payed to fight the Government laws to make there products more competitive with the importers.

what does buying american mean? dodge builds trucks in mexico gm builds in canada toyota trucks come from baja california .american cars may have good fit and finish( except when the paint peels) but where they are lacking , is in longevity and ease of repairability. how about greasable moving parts. oil filters that can be removed without pouring oil down the side of the block?. electric windows that work. data trouble code accessability that owners can retreive.

Asian auto makers are their only competition, except for BMW, Benz & WW, How about Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Seat, Renault, Peugeot, Skoda, Citroen, Lancia, Rover and many more Auto makers that are not allowed to market or sell in North America?!

Simple: 1. Kick the foreign car makers out entirely, 2. Get rid of all the robots, 3. Quit making so many models, 3. Make affordable automobiles with normal gas milage, and 4. most important... fuck the green movement and bring normality back into automobiles.
