The knee injury that jeopardized Sarah Hairston's dream role was caught on tape. Watch that fateful leap and hear the Cincinnati Ballet dancer tell her tale of doubt and pain as she recovers to become the star of "Giselle."
I snapped my ACL doing ballet as well and much like her I was back in rehab 2-3 days after surgery. This was back in 1995 and I am still working as a performer. I don't do ballet on stage anymore, my passion took me into acrobatics and aerial circus. I wish Sarah Hairston a long and wonderful career and the wisdom we both have after a injury like this is as she says - don't ever take it for granted.
