The amplifier is working in the load restistor standing besides, there is no speaker attached, you here the music out of the inductivities. The worming up lasts about one minute.

    my dad built a kilowatt valve amp once. i've got 40 + 40 check my video out. yours looks the nuts though.

  • The outputstage operates two QB3,5/750, together they make 1500Watts of dc-power and one kilowatt for the speakers. Seen your amp- nice and quality! More to this amplifire,use link to my homepage in the description above!

  • must the mercury rectifiers not preheated, bevore you switch on the anode voltage? The Philips EL6420 has a preheat switch to conserve the two AX50.

  • the Hg-vapour rectifiers do preheat, there is a special delay tube, 4152-01, that works on a relay, that switches the three-phase anode voltage transformer on, that lasts about a minute; you have it in real time on the video

  • Is it normal that the anode glows of the QB 3,5/750´s?

  • Yes, these high-power tubes are not compareable with the EL34, KT88 etc.
